Welcome to the Ledger Getting Started Hub

Ledger hardware wallets are the most secure way to manage and protect your cryptocurrency assets. If you're new to crypto or just setting up your Ledger device, you're in the right place. This hub will walk you through every step of the setup process, from unboxing to your first transaction — safely and confidently.

The first step to securing your digital wealth is learning how to use your Ledger device properly. Whether you own a Ledger Nano X or Ledger Nano S Plus, we’ll guide you through setting it up and using Ledger Live — the official app that pairs with your device to manage your assets.

What You Need to Get Started

Before diving in, make sure you have the following:

How to Set Up Your Ledger Device

  1. Unbox your Ledger: Ensure the package is sealed and untampered.
  2. Turn on your device: Hold down the power button to activate.
  3. Install Ledger Live: Visit ledger.com/start and download Ledger Live for your OS.
  4. Initialize your device: Create a PIN code and write down your 24-word recovery phrase. Never share this phrase.
  5. Confirm your recovery phrase: Ledger will verify that you’ve written it down correctly.
  6. Pair with Ledger Live: Connect your device to your computer or phone, and follow on-screen instructions.
  7. Add accounts: In Ledger Live, install apps for each crypto you want to manage.
  8. Send and receive crypto: Now you're ready to safely transfer digital assets using Ledger Live.

Ledger Live allows you to view balances, track your portfolio, and initiate secure transactions. Your private keys remain on your Ledger device — never exposed to the internet — giving you full control and maximum security.

Security Tips

Important: Ledger does not store your recovery phrase, nor can it help you recover it. If you lose your phrase, your funds are lost forever. It's your responsibility to protect it.
